What We Do.
Each non-profit is different and every philanthropy project has its own unique goals and an ideal strategic path. With our extensive development experience, we know that there is no cookie cutter approach to fundraising which is why we carefully select clients to partner with that have potential for mission growth and community impact. While each approach is customized, here are some of the tools we use to grow our clients' philanthropy programs:
Every successful non-profit needs strong board engagement to support growth and keep efforts mission-focused. In order to ensure that our clients have strong leadership, The Gift conducts a review of board engagement. We analyze board selection criteria, including participation goal, giving histories, representation and personal solicitation efforts. We will also review board governance practices to improve alignment with fundraising goals.
Annual giving ensures a sustainable source of support for years to come. The Gift will provide guidance in the development of annual fund solicitations, including direct mailing and electronic audience segmentation. Testing donor messaging segmentation in opportunity areas will be used as an acquisition method to increase participation and move current giving levels.
Major and Leadership Giving
If you're beginning a new campaign, it can be overwhelming to know where to start. The Gift will provide an analysis of top prospects, creating pipelines and setting expectations for strategic action plans, monitoring, reporting and timelines for each prospect. Our prospect research tools and predictive modeling will be used to better target areas of focus and departmental productivity.
The incredible work that non-profits and educational institutions do to support their communities naturally create beautiful stories. These stories deserve to be shared, especially with donors. The Gift Team will conduct an audit of donor communication, social and electronic media, and web statistics for fundraising sites. We provide best practices for communications and marketing planning, collateral development, annual reports and donor stewardship communications.
Campaign planning for boutique capital and short-term campaigns is a specialty area for The Gift. Accelerating advancement activities will include planning targeted campaign activities, including solicitations, building a compelling case for support, committee management and defining benchmarked goals for a prescribed engagement period.
The team will conduct an in-depth analysis of trends in advancement activities across all disciplines and identify areas of opportunity that will result in a accountability metrics for development staff. Data mining and analysis will be used to develop customized constituent strategies.
In some cases, special events, meetings and other programs will be required to build a community of support for the campaign. The Gift identifies which types of programs would be most beneficial to the long-term goals of the organization and execute premier events.
